Dr. Akram Sannaa
Dr. Sannaa embarked on his dentistry journey at Boston University School of Dental Medicine. His passion for enhancing oral health was deeply rooted in his prior involvement with public health research at Harvard School of Public Health.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sannaa has been consistently recognized for his contributions and achievements. He has been honored with prestigious awards such as the International College of Dentists Leadership Award and the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine High Achievement Award. Firmly believing in a multi-specialty approach, Dr. Sannaa's expertise spans across various areas including root canals (having attended a Mini Residency in state-of-the-art endodontics), comprehensive dental care, implant dentistry, smile makeovers, and sleep appliances. He is acclaimed as the Invisalign maestro and possesses an exceptional ability to calm anxious patients, seamlessly blending his charming personality with a diverse range of techniques.
As the proud owner of Chevy Chase Dental Center for the past six years, Dr. Sannaa has skillfully integrated his expertise, charisma, and commitment to excellence into every aspect of the practice. This dedication has cultivated a patient-centered environment that aligns with his core values, epitomized by the practice's mission, "Dentistry with Heart." Driven by patient satisfaction, his unwavering commitment to providing top-tier care continually propels his pursuit of excellence.
Beyond the realm of dentistry, Dr. Sannaa treasures moments spent with family and friends. His interests range from exploring hiking trails and camping to indulging in culinary adventures. His family's legacy of olive oil production in Syria adds a profound layer to his identity, symbolizing generations of dedication and craftsmanship passed down through time.
A delightful twist: "Sannaa'' translates to "The Makers" in Arabic, while in Italian and Spanish, "Sana" means "Health." This coincidence is fitting as Dr. Sannaa dedicates himself to crafting healthy smiles every day. Building upon the foundation of his first practice, Dr. Sannaa's commitment and successful approach have led to an exciting development. In the summer of 2024, Chevy Chase Dental Center is poised to open a second location in Bethesda, Maryland. This expansion reflects his desire to serve the community while extending his expertise in dentistry to a broader audience, thereby making a positive impact in the world of dentistry.
Dr. Sahar Nesvaderani
Dr. Sahar Nesvaderani is a talented general dentist who brings her skills in Cosmetic Dentistry and passion for facial esthetics to Chevy Chase Dental Center. Dr. Nesvaderani is an Iranian American born and raised in Montgomery County. She has earned her B.S. in Public health from University of Maryland at College Park, Masters degree in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University, and her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She was one of six students to be accepted into the Prosthodontics Honors Program where she completed an Implant Clerkship and received advanced training in dental implantology and esthetic dentistry. Dr. Nesvaderani was also voted to serve as the President of Student Government at the UMSOD for both her 3rd and 4th year of dental school. Dr. Nesvaderani has had extensive training in facial esthetics. She has been trained by master injectors at the American Academy of Facial Esthetics to safely provide Botox and dermal filler injections to her patients. With advanced education in the field of biomedical sciences combined with her dedication to providing outstanding comprehensive care, Dr. Nesvaderani will treat your dental needs with empathy, patience and confidence. Dr. Nesvaderani is an active member of the American Academy of Women Dentists, Academy of General Dentistry, Greater Washington Academy of Women Dentists, American Academy of Facial Esthetics, and the ADA.
Outside of the dental office, Dr. Nesvaderani has a strong passion for all things health and fitness. She has raced in 6 triathlons including an Ironman 70.3, and is currently training for her next Ironman race! She loves to paint, snowboard, swim, read, travel the world, and experiment in the kitchen. She is a certified yoga and spin instructor, and loves to explore the fitness scene and studios when she travels to different cities or countries. But don't let her active lifestyle fool you. She rarely turns down ice cream or a hot basket of french fries.
Tayler Qura
Tayler, a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist at Chevy Chase Dental Center, is esteemed by patients for her gentle touch and warm personality, ensuring each visit is a comfortable and positive experience. Passionate about remaining abreast of the latest techniques and technologies in dental hygiene, she pursues advanced training and is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to her patients.
Her admirable skill level is complemented by her enjoyment of collaborating with professionals who trust and encourage her clinical expertise. Renowned for her comprehensive periodontal care, Tayler employs advanced techniques like air polishing to ensure optimal patient care. Additionally, she is licensed in providing local anesthesia and nitrous sedation, prioritizing patient comfort throughout their experience.
Tayler's commitment to ongoing education underscores her dedication to providing superior patient care. She adopts a personalized approach to dental hygiene, taking time to listen to each patient's concerns and crafting customized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs. Her diligence and attention to detail guarantee each patient receives exemplary care.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Tayler finds joy in exploring new culinary experiences and fashion trends around DC. Her patients value her positive energy and friendly demeanor, reflective of her zest for life. Tayler cherishes her close bond with her siblings, Brianna and Andrew, whom she considers her best friends.
Meg Assefa
With over a decade of experience, Megdelawit (Meg) has flourished as a practicing hygienist, bringing her unwavering commitment to dental care to each patient she serves. A proud alumna of Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, Meg holds a bachelor’s degree and a dental hygiene license from her esteemed education. Her dedication to continuous learning is evidenced by her certifications in Invisalign® and sleep apnea treatment. Specializing in working with special needs patients, she possesses the expertise to cater to a diverse range of needs.
Known as our “queen of technology,” Meg is seldom seen without her trusted intraoral camera. With a keen eye for detail, she navigates dental technology seamlessly. Her genuine connection with people, combined with her meticulous nature, ensures that her patients always feel at ease.
Meg’s calming presence fosters a welcoming atmosphere for patients, making them feel right at home during their visits. Beyond the dental chair, she is a devoted parent to her young son and daughter, who constantly keep her engaged. Her interests extend to enjoying stand-up comedy and giving back through volunteering at her church.
Originating from Ethiopia, where the art of coffee brewing began, Meg brings a unique cultural perspective to her work. Her dedication to excellence, coupled with her warm spirit, defines her approach to both dentistry and life.
